DIY Mother’s Day Gift Idea

1. Find some watercolor paints and a paint brush. Prang or Crayola from the school supply isle will work perfect.

2. Find some heavy paper. Watercolor paper is ideal but cardstock or thick drawing paper will work too.

3. Set your kid(s) down with the paints, brush, paper, a cup of water, and encourage them to paint your wife’s/ mother’s/ important woman in their life’s favorite flower. Bonus points if it includes a favorite color. Use your phone to look up reference photos.

4. For added fun sprinkle the painting with salt (kosher, table, sea salt, any salt will do) and let dry for a few hours or overnight. When the paint is completely dry, rub the salt off. You should be left with some sparkles and cool texture.

5. Have the artist sign their completed painting. For little hands, pen works better than a brush.

6. For additional bonus points frame the painting. Wrap and give to a Mother ❤️

Not a lot of work. Not a lot of mess. A beautiful painting that will be cherished for years to come.
