37 turns around the sun!
37! As I write this I am overcome with gratitude. Gratitude for another year of life. Gratitude that I get to share my art. Gratitude that I have the opportunity to bring more beauty, creativity, and joy into the world.
My birthday is often a reflective time for me. What have I accomplished in the past year? Am I closer to my goals? What was my favorite part? What am I proud of? What am I thankful for?
The past year was the year I dreamed big dreams and made them happen: multiple Art + Yoga Retreats, Classes, Paint Parties, Inktober, February Flowers, Spring into Spring Arts & Craft Fair, and a solo art show. It has been a year FULL of art. In my 36th year I visited 10 countries, created over 70 new works of art, and taught hundreds of students.
I cannot pick a favorite part of the year. Honestly, for my art, it was one of my best years. I enjoyed connecting with people through creativity. I enjoyed going on solo trips and refilling my cup. I enjoyed finding joy in the small moments.
I am proud of facing my fears of rejection and hosting a solo art show. I am proud of selling multiple pieces. I am proud of making creating a priority. I am proud of dipping my toe into the world of licensing. Most of all I am proud of all of the people I have inspired to pursue creativity in their own lives.
I am thankful for every like, comment, DM, conversation, and sale. It really means so so much to me to know that you all love and appreciate what I create as much as I do. Being an artist can be lonely, and you all make me feel much less alone. Thank you.
Life Updates & Goals for the Coming Year
In the past few months we said goodbye to our sweet 18 year old cat Indigo, we moved from Northern Italy to South Carolina, we lived out of suitcases for 70+ days, we moved into our new home, and we had nearly 18,000 pounds of belongings delivered. We also added two kittens to our family, Sienna & Jasper. It has been a very busy few months. I am slowly but surely getting my new studio up and running.
I am looking forward to all of the new art I am going to create in my new space. Coming this fall, I will be releasing a print collection inspired by “La Dolce Vita”. All prints will be made in my studio and will have an extra special artist's touch. I am percolating ideas for my yearly Inktober project as well as a collection of ornaments to be released just in time for the holidays. I would love to host an art retreat or 2 in 2025, start teaching classes again, and land my first licensing deal. So many ideas. So many possibilities.
